George Cloyed

Timelessness of design is what I try for when creating my art, though I draw from historical artistic styles, like the arts and crafts era, colonial America, the Mission style and Oriental art for inspiration. My work is mostly jewelry in sterling and karat gold, and sterling flatware, and hollowware. The techniques I use to create my work includes, raising, metal spinning, forging, soldering, casting, construction, piercing, twisting, chasing, and engraving. As a full time silversmith at Colonial Williamsburg for forty plus, years, I have many years experience educating and entertaining my visitors about the art of the silversmith. My products range in price from $25.00 to $5,000, with an average price point between $50.00 and $150.00. My demo consists of making spoons or bracelets out of sterling. What I love about doing craft shows is the the direct connection that I get to make with my patrons. I have a number of friends today that I first met as customers.
