Demonstrate 18th century style spinning, and weaving of wool.
Explanation of craft:
Using fleece from breeds of sheep common in 18th and 19th
1) Using fleece from the Leicester Longwool breed of sheep common in 18th and 19th century America, demonstrate each step in preparation for spinning wool yarns.
2) Using wool prepared by traditional methods, demonstrate spinning on various types of equipment (twisty stick, drop spindle, treadle wheel, or Great Wheel).
3) Using hand spun yarns, demonstrate traditional style weaving.

All equipment used is either authentic reproduction or original. All yarns and woven pieces have been dyed with natural dyes using 18th century methods.
