This new selection of my work ties together my traditional slip trailing with new decorations that have been growing in side projects and new interests. I maintain the purely functional aspects of my work and am always moving toward mixing with the unpredictable. Inspirations include but are not limited to nature, dance, archaeology, color play and the ancient.
My work is handmade solely by myself of white earthenware. Thrown by hand and trimmed by hand on a kick wheel all pots are brushed with various under glazes and then slip trailed. More often than not multiple layers of colors or dots are applied and handles, knobs and legs are added too. In addition to my thrown work I have begun to revive a series of square and oblong slab construction trays and plates. Also this year I have revived decorating with bamboo brushes adding detail with finger painting, carving and layers of slip trailing as well.
